Luchs / Lynx

Arkania Online Monsters - Luchs / Lynx

Red Lynx
Bobcats have reddish-brown striped fur. The animals claim a fairly large territory for themselves, as deep as possible in the forest, which they also defend against larger intruders if necessary. You will almost never encounter a bobcat in fields or open grasslands, because even rabid lynx rarely venture out of the forest.

Raschtul's Lynx
Location: Raschtullswall, Arania, Almada, Mhanadistan (forest and foresty mountain edges)
The Raschtul lynx is closely related to the bobcat and differs little from its cousin apart from the yellow to tan striped fur. The animals mostly live in forested mountain slopes, where they often claim numerous small caves scattered throughout their territory as resting places. If a Raschtul lynx is disturbed and cornered there, it will fight wildly and doggedly for its life.

Sun Lynx
The sun lynxes, which have a completely light brown fur, are so praised for their courage that they are regarded as the nocturnal watchmen of Praios. They even venture into civilized areas during the day and will soon engage with other predators, even if they are significantly larger. If seriously injured in combat, they flee, but it has often been said that they will then chase the opponent for days before resuming the fight.

Firn Lynx
The silvery-white fur of the firn lynx has already attracted many noblefolk. A high price for the fur is also achieved because the firn lynx is mostly hunted without success. The clever animals have a pronounced instinct for danger and almost never fall into laid traps. When stalking, however, it is almost impossible to kill a lynx, because the animals are extremely fast. Firn lynxes only fight humans when there is no other way out. They run away at the first opportunity and like to prepare their escape with a diversionary attack.

Goose Lynx
The smallest representative of its kind is also the most cowardly of the lynxes. The animal often causes great distress to the farmers, because the lynx enters the villages at night, steals eggs and hunts chickens, ducks and geese. If the goose lynx feels threatened, it always tries to weaken and distract its opponents with an attack, in order to then flee. A hunt for the animal is not worthwhile, as the irregular gray and light brown spotted fur is not very popular.

* The AT value after the slash is for a surprise attack from an ambush, which the lynx executes while jumping with paws and teeth at the same time.
** The lynx attacks with its paws, but if the AT check rolls a 1, the animal bites at the same time.
*** The firn lynx has 2 attacks per combat round (paws and teeth) against the same opponent.
