Bear

Bear

While passing through a small valley, you are approached by a truly gigantic being. Only when it stops no more than a few paces ahead, you have a chance to recognize a fully grown bark bear. Tricky, this. What are you going to do?

* Stand and fight, * run as fast as your legs will carry you, * or throw the bear some sweets and try to slip by unnoticed while it’s preoccupied?

Admittedly, you are well prepared for a fight, but because of its size, the bear is anything but an easy opponent. It hits [NAME] with a mighty blow. Only, when [NAME] utters an absolutely bone-chilling scream, the bear loses its nerve and runs off.

The escape barely succeeds. [NAME] stumbles and gets badly scratched in the finish.

You manage to distract the bear for a few seconds and use the time to make good your escape.

Pitiful. You should have known you don’t carry any sweets, don’t you think? Now you’ve wasted valuable time searching through your pockets while the bear is clobbering your comrade [NAME]. The animal doesn’t stop until it notices the rest of you coming to the attack. Only when it sees its chances of victory vanish, it gives poor [NAME] another almighty blow to get a free escape route and makes a clean getaway. That was pathetic.
