Mud

Within the last few minutes, the path became wetter and wetter. [NAME] has sunk into the mud up to both knees a number of times. Now, you even notice some swamp holes ahead. Do you want to turn back or follow in your leader’s footsteps?

[NAME] has stepped into a deep swamp hole and is unable to get out without help.

[NAME] has stepped right into a deep swamp hole and is starting to sink. Do you

• get a rope to pull [NAME] out together or
• waste no time and grasp the hand reaching toward you?

Pity. While you wasted your time futilely searching for a rope, [NAME] sank without trace.

I’m sorry. You fail to rescue the sinking [NAME].

Through tremendous effort, you have managed to free [NAME].

Despite your concerted efforts, you are unable to prevent [NAME] sinking out of sight.

Pulling together with all your strength, you manage to draw [NAME] out from the mud bit by bit.

Even though [NAME] has managed to grasp the hand of [NAME], [NAME] continues to sink and disappears up to the neck when [NAME] finally manages to get rid of the backpack with the free hand.

Now [NAME] is lighter, but even so, [NAME] disappears beneath the surface of the mud with a gurgling noise.

Now that [NAME] is lighter, [NAME] strength is sufficient to draw [NAME] free from the mud.

[NAME] indeed manages to grasp the hand of [NAME] and pull [NAME] out from the threatening swamp hole.

Setting not a foot wrong the entire way, [NAME] leads your party around all the dangerous swamp holes.
