Demigods, Karma and Miracles The gods of Aventuria have brought forth several demigods, their children, who often take on some aspects of their parents. The children of demigods are also considered demigods themselves and not seen as any weaker than those born from two gods. There are many demigods, also known as Alveranians, and their status varies from nation to nation, but the most important ones are those who are named here. Furthermore, there are some divine beings who are not currently worshipped, but have been worshipped in past eras, with knowledge about them merely privy to some scholars and obscure cults at the borders of Aventuria’s society. Those who travel for the sake of traveling are favored by him and it is said that Aves is one of the few gods who walk on Aventuria, always unseen and in different shapes, living among mortals and enjoying their lives and company more than any of the other gods. He is worshipped by adventurers and his priests are traveling heroes and explorers. She is seen as notably more approachable than her father and as a result is worshipped more openly, often even in case of Firun. He is worshipped primarily by mercenaries and his priests are either mercenaries themselves or see that sellswords throughout Aventuria are properly paid for their service. They are particularly strong in southern Aventuria, where he is often more revered than Rondra, whose principles of honourable combat is less popular among the more opportunistic warriors of the south. He is viewed as a weaker god and even considered dead by some scholars, even if his followers keep receiving his blessings occasionally and there is still a small, yet active church dedicated to him. The cult of the twelve gods says that his twin sons are the Alveranian of Forgotten Knowledge and the Alveranian of Forbidden Knowledge. Satuaria was born from an egg, in which she had to endure seven months and seven days. The witches consider Satuaria to be their main deity and the witchcraft spells and rituals to be their secret knowledge. Some daughters of Satuaria also refer to the elf window as Satuaria . Toads, rose quartz and silver are considered sacred to Satuaria. He is particularly worshipped in Thorwal, where he is the highest and most important of all the gods, yet not particularly popular in the rest of Aventuria. Whales are sacred to him and hunting them is blasphemy to the followers of Swafnir, who can mostly be found in the ranks of the sailors and pirates of Thorwal. He is the god of madness, despair and vicious mockery, who appears to mortals who have grown too proud to show them their true insignificance. He loves driving people mad, mocking those who are struggling, especially if they are prideful and arrogant, and he also does not care for mortal worship at all. As a result, there are only a handful of shrines dedicated to him in all Aventuria. Ucuri is considered to be Praios’ self-created son, in the kingdom of Horas also as Horas’ father. Ucuri acts as herald and messenger to Praios and Alveran. Often flying between Alveran and Dere, he takes the form of a radiant hawk. Falcon, citrine, golden topaz, chrysoberyl and the colors gold white and purple are considered sacred. There is a legend that amber is formed from Ucuri’s tears. Quarter Gods The descendants of demigods might not posses their own karmic energy. Furthermore, the following entities are also sometimes regarded as demigods. According to legend, the heavenly Gorfang, Iyi, Rajok and Swafnir wooed the favor of the fair Ifirn. But her resentful father Firun expelled what he considered to be unworthy candidates, whereupon the compassionate Ifirn gave herself to all four (contradicting this). From these unions emerged the egg-born siblings Nidari, Yidari, Lidari and Aidari. In the Northlands and among the Thorwalers, they are regarded as the draft animals of the mother’s sky coach and revered as the patron saints of the hunters. The legend tells of a fifth swan daughter whose father was the dark Kor. Since Ifirn did not surrender to him, he took her by force, resulting in the fifth silver swan. That silver swan, the Cold Bride, had a dark disposition and fell for the Nameless. Banished to the Misty Spire by her sisters, she seeks liberation and revenge. But some of his followers survived and his cult lived on. After many trials, they managed to bring him back to the world. He appeared in Maraskan, conquered the island and then set out to subjugate the rest of Aventuria with the aid of magic, Demons, undead and many turncoat or mercenary fighters. He conquered Tobria, an eastern province of the Empire, some of his minions occupied other areas. Forces of his followers were active almost anywhere, including an air raid with fire bombs on Gareth, capital of the Empire. In the meantime, forces of the Ice-Demon Nagrach invaded the Bornland from the Far North. According to the teachings of the Praios church, he is a son of Ucuri, but he is also rarely considered the son of Praios and the Gyldenland magician Gylduria. Iloïnen Swan Daughter Symbol: silver swan Aspects: survival, battle against Glorana Parents: Ifirn and Penttuu Temples in game: Ifirn’s Pack in Nivese Lands, garden in Ifirn’s Winter Temple in Festum Iloïnen Swan Daughter is the egg-hatched daughter of Ifirn and Penttuu, a descendant of the Sky Wolves. She experienced many adventures in her youth with her father in search of her mother until Ifirn finally revealed herself. The outwardly 14 year old girl is curious and adventurous and travels a lot through North Aventuria. Against the influence of Nagrach, she founded the Ifirn pack. Swafnifrej Other Names: Swafnirsormr Symbol: whale, swan Parents: Swafnir and Ifirn The white swan-dolphin Swanifrej is a son of Swafnir and Ifirn.
