Leta Notjes

Leta Notjes

The woman who opens the door is wearing a city guard’s uniform:

Yes? Can I help you?

Leta Notjes
Are there any interesting sights in the vicinity?

The dwarves are running a mine in the hills east of town, practically on the coast. That’s fairly interesting, as they usually keep well away from the water, ha ha!

Do you think the orc uprising was orchestrated by the Holberkians?

No. Ridiculous! The Holberkians are good-natured to the point of seeming like simpletons. They wouldn’t even think of something like that, much less actually turn the thought into practice.

Do you know the rat-catcher?

Barely.

Do you believe there are monsters below the town?

No. I’ve been down in the sewer system myself, and there’s nothing out of the ordinary there!

Anything you might be able to tell us about the guild or the tradesmaster?

They’re supposed to be hiding in the sewers, but I haven’t seen the slightest evidence of that. - I’ve been down there a few times, you know.

Do you know Tarik at all?

Tarik works for the judge, or at least we’re hoping he hasn’t changed sides again. There’s enough people keeping an eye on him, I’m not going to get involved in that as well!

Can you tell us something about the judge then?

Bosper Jarnug appears to be anything but celibate, and not too choosy regarding the sex of his companions either. There’s talk about him misusing his powers to insure a steady supply, but there’s no evidence backing it up.

The Twelve smile on you!

I’ve got things to do. Please excuse me. You can come back some other time.

I don’t believe that you’re guilty and that’s why I will support you as much as I possibly can.

What’s going on in Riva?

Don’t tell anyone I said this, but it does appear that the judge has people arrested quite arbitrarily. I have no idea what he’s up to.

Do you think the orc uprising could have been orchestrated by the Holberkians?

No. Unthinkable! The Holberkians are good-natured to the point of seeming like simpletons. They wouldn’t even think of anything like that, much less be able to actually do it.

Do you know the rat-catcher at all?

No, he’s down in the sewers all the time and barely spends time above ground.

Do you also believe there are monsters below ground?

No. I’ve been down there myself, and there’s nothing there you could call out of the ordinary!

Can you tell us about the guild or the tradesmaster?

There’s talk about guild members hiding in the sewers, but I haven’t seen any trace of them. - I’ve been down there a few times, you know.

Do you know Tarik?

He’s supposed to be working for the judge, but there’s the possibility he’s double-crossing us. At least his tips haven’t been much help to us.

Can you tell us something about that judge?

Well, he’s power-mad, that’s the problem. The captain doesn’t resist at all. Jarnug can do practically whatever he wants.
There have been a number of very suspicious arrests, and Jarnug doesn’t show any respect of public status either.

And what does he hope to accomplish by this?

I have no idea. Maybe he’s trying to back someone. Possibly he’s connected with the guild, or the pirates. Who knows, he might even be in league with the orcs for all I know…

[NAME] nods inscrutably. The woman has no idea how close to the truth she is!

Be sure that nobody sees you! I hope you’re aware of the risk I’m taking…

I’ve got to go, or I’ll be late for duty! Be sure that nobody sees you! I hope you’re aware of the risk I’m taking…
