Harpies are of human intelligence, but always unpredictable due to their confused minds. They often meet a hero in a friendly manner at first, only to suddenly pounce on him. Sometimes they break off a fight that has started and offer their opponent help. Since harpies are both very dangerous in battle and can be of invaluable service to a group of heroes, it is best not to attack this creature on your own. It is advisable to meet the creature in a friendly manner, but always remain vigilant! Swarms of harpies (2d6+6) can be encountered in the mountain ranges of central and southern Aventuria. The screeching of the creatures has already sent shivers down the spines of many brave heroes - a master should therefore use courage tests to determine whether the heroes are impressed by the hellish noise and flee, or whether they calmly await the things that happen there will come. When a harpy decides to fight, it is greedy: it usually attacks with the sharp claws of its prehensile feet or with its extremely powerful wings. Sometimes the harpies drag a human into their cave after they have grabbed him with a targeted attack - but they often decide otherwise and simply drop him.

Harpies are fickle and will sometimes break off a fight for no apparent reason.
* If the AT is a 1, the harpy performs a targeted dive attack to take the opponent into the air. Often the victims are brought into the nest (fighting in trees), but sometimes the harpies just let it go on the fly (fall damage 2d+2 to 6d+6), especially if they continue to be attacked.
