99 Laws of Rastullah

The 99 laws are the basis of the Rastullah faith. When Rastullah revealed himself in the oasis of Keft in the year 760 to the tribe of the Beni Novad, he told them his laws. Only a century later, in the year of 869 Mawdli ar-Yerhani wrote them down in his book "Thus spoke Rastullah". Later the caliphs Omar al-Karim and Mukkarib al-Kafur used them as basis for their texts of law. The exact content and number of laws aren’t completely known for sure. But the caliphs’ version of the 99 laws is the most common.

  2. The God-Fearing One laboureth with diligence upon each of the seven days.
  3. The God-Fearing One remembereth the great transgression of the eighth day; sorrow and wrath fill his heart, and he taketh neither food nor labour. He drinketh only water, and wine, but in measure.
  4. The God-Fearing One remembereth the great joy of the ninth day; he keepeth it with silent contentment.
  5. The God-Fearing One counteth anew from the ninth unto the first, and beginneth this upon the day of His Revelation. He breaketh this count but on five days in the year, which numbereth forty times nine and five more.
  6. The God-Fearing One, after eight times nine days, feeleth His breath upon him and seeketh to draw nigh unto Him.

The laws of the calendar refer to the creation myth of the faith of Rastullah, in which he created the world in seven days and rested on the eighth, leaving the world guarded by the spirits of the elements, which betrayed him and used that godly day (a timeframe that isn’t defined) to let themselves become worshipped as gods by the creatures of the earth.

When Rastullah awoke on the ninth day, only the people of the Beni Novad clan stayed faithful, and became his chosen to follow his words until he reappears to unveil himself to the world again.

Rastullah’s Nine Wifes
  1. The grim Hellah
  2. The honourable Orhima
  3. The inventive Shimja
  4. The wild Rhondara
  5. The wise Heschinja
  6. The joyful and fickle Dschella
  7. Marhibo Guardian of the Past
  8. The lustful Khabla
  9. The haughty and proud Amm-el-Thona

Since Rastullah has nine wifes, the caliph is allowed to have eight (in addition to his concubines), and faithful Novadis can have seven, if they can prove they can provide for them.
