[NAME] flings open the door and shouts:
Hesinde be with you!
The seeress looks askance at [NAME]. Then she answers quietly:
I was born in the sign of Phex.
A seeress is a wise woman. She will have dedicated her life to Hesinde!
[NAME] flings open the door and shouts:
Hesinde be with you!
The seeress looks up with a jolt. Then she displays a forced smile:
I was born in the sign of Phex!
Could you tell us something about Riva?
There’s a mage living in a tower outside of town to the south. The tower is quite out of the way, and as long as he sticks to nabbing the Holberkians’ pets for his experiments, the people let him be.
Are you afraid of an orc attack, too?
Being the League’s only seaport, Riva ought to be a favorite target of the orcs. On the other hand, there’s only an absolute minimum of warriors left in the surrounding villages. It’s not clear whether the others are gathering for an attack somewhere or whether they’ve really gone off to the south to join the big orc armies.
A lot of people think the Holberkians are pulling the strings behind the orc uprising.
It would be rash to dismiss that out of hand. At least that could explain why Riva has been spared an attack, when it should have been a favorite target for the orcs, due to its importance.
Do you know anything about the rat-catcher?
Years ago, I made a protective charm for him. And I’ve heard he’s had protective spells cast on himself by some white mage as well. He had to travel quite a bit for that!
Do you really believe there’s unnatural creatures haunting the sewers?
Not really! Then again… the rat-catcher’s carrying a protective charm. I wonder if there’s a special reason for that. After all, he knows his way around down there better than any of us.
Do you know anything about the pirates?
It’s said they’ve gotten in the way of the guild. - One of the two organizations will be sailing to defeat. - It’ll be interesting to see which one!
Is there anything you can tell us about the guild or the tradesmaster?
Only what’s going around! Ui Chearghail is in charge of the guild, and he seems to be good at it!
Do you know a fellow named Tarik?
Why certainly. Who doesn’t? He’d be a much better recipient for your questions, but he’d charge you for it!
What do you know about the judge?
Well now, I don’t know what to make of all the rumors circulating about him. He deginitely was sick a few years ago, and his notoriety only started after that.
What do you know about the judge’s illness?
I was called to his bedside, but I failed just like all the other healers. The judge was feverish and shook with muscle spasms, but it was impossible to tell the cause of it.
Are you a healer, too, or do you just see the future?
What do you mean, JUST see the future? - But yes, I can also treat disease and have a knowledge of herbs and potions.
I can see a lot of rune-covered artifacts…?
Yes, they’re my passion! I can spend days just deciphering runic inscriptions. Most of them are actually conceptual glyphs, really, it’s only the newer ones that form a syllabic or even alphabetic script. Often you need to know the background and the subject of a text to make any sense of them.
Phex be with you!
Phex be with you, I’ll have to throw you out now. I’ve got to get back to work!
